Community Mindfulness Group FREE
Fridays, 5:30–6:30pm
Hosted by Stephanie Otte, LPC
In-person at the office in the rear waiting room
Sitting down to practice mindfulness, meditation, or contemplative spiritual practices can be hard. Sometimes the simple presence of other people doing the same thing can make it possible.
Starting in July 2026, Stephanie Otte, LPC will be opening the rear waiting room area every Friday as a drop-in community mindfulness practice space. These events are free to attend and no registration is required.
You're welcome to arrive anytime between 5:30 and 6:30pm and stay for as long or as little as you'd like. Five minutes or the full hour — it's entirely up to you. The space is kept quiet — a chance to simply be, without any expectation to engage or interact.

FAQs for Groups & Workshops.
Have questions about our therapy groups, workshops, or how to get involved? Here are a few of the questions we hear most often.
-
Group therapy offers a unique opportunity for growth, healing, and connection with others who may share similar experiences. You can gain fresh insights, explore different perspectives, and develop essential coping skills while fostering a sense of connection and reducing isolation.
Group therapy can be more cost-effective than individual sessions because expenses are shared, making professional guidance accessible to a wider range of people.
-
Our therapy practice offers a variety of group types, each catering to different needs:
Process Group: This type of group offers a space for personal exploration and processing of your own story. It creates a safe, supportive environment for exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, much like a journey of self-discovery.
Psychoeducational Group: These workshops provide you with specific knowledge and skills to manage challenges, enhance personal growth, and better understand your situation. In these sessions, you'll acquire practical skills, information, and techniques to manage specific challenges, such as anxiety, stress, or relationship issues. These groups focus on didactically teaching and equipping you with valuable tools for everyday life.
Support Group: Support groups are all about connecting with others who are dealing with similar issues. It's a safe space to share, heal, and offer support to fellow group members. Because our professional therapists facilitate the groups, this adds more emotional safety and ensures a warm and supportive environment where you can find empathy, understanding, and encouragement.
-
Some of the groups ask for payment ahead of time in order to foster a deeper commitment to the process, not only for yourself but for the entire group. When everyone is equally invested, the group tends to flourish, and your personal progress can be more consistent and meaningful. Commitment and continued presence in the group therapy process creates a sense of trust and togetherness within the group, and this cohesion enriches the experience for everyone.
-
We understand that life happens, and sometimes things come up. However, to maintain a consistent and supportive group experience for everyone, we are unable to offer refunds for any missed sessions. For those paying per session, the session fee will still apply if you're unable to attend. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to the group’s continuity!
