Taking the first step to explore your own story is a brave step toward healing. I love providing safe space for children, families, teens, young adults, and women who are wanting something to change in their life. Oftentimes there are unknown problems hidden underneath the current patterns/struggles that keep us stuck in life. This may be due to trauma that is buried in our story. I am passionate about exploring your story with you, at your own pace, with the strengths, insights, and spirituality that you carry with you. I find that more freedom comes with looking at the cause rather than just the symptoms.
I believe that no two people are alike, so working with you will be a unique journey for both of us. You get to lead the process, and I will be there to walk alongside you as you discover what is helpful. There are many ways to work with trauma and pain. I specialize in Expressive Art Therapy, using art, creativity, and play as tools that encourage reflection and process by engaging the interests and strengths that are already there. The things you enjoy can be very productive in therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and can work with all ages (age 7 and up).
Whether you are just checking out therapy for the first time, or you are looking for a new perspective for an old problem, I look forward to hearing your story and encouraging your heart to come alive.
I reserve the right to refer clients to another therapist or appropriate resource at any time if their needs in therapy are not a good match for my skills or experience.
