Jessica Drachenberg, MA-MFT, LAMFT

Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Jessica is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the supervision of Roxane Thorstad, PsyD. Jessica received her masters in marriage and family therapy from Wheaton College, in Wheaton Illinois, with a strong focus on the integration of faith, personhood, and therapeutic practice. Prior to this, she received her undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology from The University of Illinois at Chicago with an emphasis on research to determine best practices. Jessica’s experience as a therapist began in 2013 in the Chicagoland area and moved to Arizona in 2015. She has experience working with adults, couples, adolescents, and families with young children from multi-cultural backgrounds.  Her focus of therapeutic work rests in relational dynamics, attachment, early childhood trauma, depression and anxiety, families remaining together; conflict and communication or disobedience from children to extreme behaviors such as outbursts, aggression and suicidal behavior. Jessica has experience working with trauma and abuse, fostering and blended families, adoption and has been trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy – an evidence based trauma therapy model for children (birth-five) and their parents – and in Sand Tray Play Therapy. She really enjoys utilizing therapeutic play and expressive arts to allow therapy to be fun for children and adults. When appropriate Jessica will utilize her training in systemic (relational) theories during therapy and will often include parents in their children's therapy sessions in order to assist the child in growing at an ethical and clinically appropriate rate.

Jessica's goal is to build a therapeutic relationship with you and your family, one that provides a new experience of relationship, in order to assist you on your current journey in life. She values open communication and encourages you and your family to discuss how therapy is working or not working as well as how much you would like faith to be integrated into your therapy sessions.

Jessica reserves the right to refer clients to another therapist or appropriate resource at any time if their needs in therapy are not a good match for her skills or experience.

Providing hope and compassion for your journey through life.
